Registrations are now open to the Young Audience Summit 2022!

The 2022 edition is being organised around the theme of representation and how European film reflects and represents young people, shapes identity and a sense of European culture.
It will take place in Berlin on 19th June with the Youth Council joining in person and Summit participants joining online. They will watch short films and take part in Q&A's with filmmakers.
The goal is to look at and celebrate examples of good practice as well as where the industry falls short.
The Young Audience Summit 2022 will explore and discuss many aspects of Representation:
Kid’s Media - Are there enough diverse characters in kid’s media? Should roles be played by actors with same characteristics? Is the media that children consume age appropriate?
Racism & untold histories - How accurately is racism reflected on film? Why do diverse histories remain untold? Should films that feature discriminatory language or depictions be removed? How well is indigenous culture and/or minority culture is represented?
Gender Representation – discussing how women are represented in front of and behind the camera, how well contemporary gender issues are represented and how stereotypes are reinforced or challenged
The young people organising the programme want to look at and celebrate examples of good practice as well as where the industry falls short.
The Summit is a hybrid event with the Youth Council hosting it and the breakout sessions and 80 young people participating online. It will be streamed for young people that can’t join as participants. It will also be filmed.
